Dhuandhar Falls

The Dhuandhar Falls, fall in Jabalpur district in the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh. The Falls are located on Narmada River in Bhedaghat and are 10 meter high. The Narmada River, makes its way through the world-famous Marble Rocks, narrows down and then plunges in a waterfall known as Dhuandhar. The plunge, which creates a bouncing mass of mist, is so powerful that its roar is heard from a far distance. And the energy produced may be used in Hydro-electric power plant.


CHAUSAT YOGINI TEMPLE

The temple is the largest of the circular yogini temples, some 125 feet in diameter.The scholar Shaman Hatley calls it the "most imposing and perhaps best known of the yogini temples".It has a covered walkway with 81 cells for yoginis around the inside of its circular wall; three niches, two to the west, and one to the southeast remain open as entrances. There is a later shrine in the centre of the courtyard the temple was adapted as a Gauri-Shankar temple with the construction of the building in the south-centre of the circle

Pisanhari Ki Madiya

Pisanhari ki Madiya is a well-known Jain pilgrimage center located in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh. Situated near Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Medical college, it is one of the important places to visit in Jabalpur, especially for Jains.Located on top of a 300 feet high hill, Pisanhari ki Madiya was built in the year 1442 CE by a poor woman named Pishanhari. According to legend, Pisanhari was a poor woman who saved enough money by grinding flour on a hand-driven stone grinder to construct the temple. To pay her a befitting tribute, this temple was named Pisanhari ki Madiya which can be translated to the woman preparing wheat flour on a hand-operated stone mill.

Bargi Dam

Bargi Dam is built on Narmada river in Madhya Pradesh state of Central India. It is just 40kms south of Jabalpur city. Out of 30 major dam projects on Narmada river, it is one of the first completed dam on river. Bargi dam construction started in year 1974 and completed in year 1990. Main dam is constructed near Bargi village, close to National Highway-7 (connects Jabalpur- Nagpur) due to which it has been named Bargi Dam. It serves in irrigation projects and hydropower generation of 90 MW capacity. In addition to irrigation and power generation, dam is also used for tourism promotion on region. For tourism promotion, Madhya Pradesh State Tourism Development Corporation has opened its well furnished hotel for peaceful accommodation and entertaining visitors at this site.
